Information

Audio is 2013 remixed & remastered from the original 1972 analogue stereo master.
9 x LP 180g heavyweight vinyl
MP3 and HD download code (Not available in all regions, including the US. Download inconsistencies have been reported; some reports refer to HD files for the full 27 tracks across the 3 shows, others to seven HD files for the 2013 Remaster (Martin Pullan) and Remix (Kevin Shirley) of the original double album only. There seems to be common agreement that all 27 tracks are provided in MP3 format).
60 page softback book
The third disk for each show is etched on the second side; all three disks have the same etching.
There are a number of misprinted labels (errors): All "Osaka" concerts are misspelled as "Oaska"!
Erroneous duplication of text printed on bottom of each label "Copyright owned by "owned by" Deep Purple (Overseas) Ltd.
"Smoke On The Water" is misspelled "Somoke On The Water" on the backcover of all three gatefolds.

Deep Purple have been referred to as the "unholy trinity of British hard rock and heavy metal” in the early to mid-Seventies. One of the most influential and important guitar bands in history, they have sold over 100 million albums worldwide.

“Made In Japan” was recorded live over three nights during 15–17 August 1972 at Festival Hall, Osaka and Budokan, Tokyo. Four of the tracks come from the band’s 1972 “Machine Head” album. It featured what many consider the classic Deep Purple lineup – Ian Gillan (Vocals), Ritchie Blackmore (Guitars), Roger Glover (Bass), Jon Lord (Organ) and Ian Paice (Drums). Originally recorded only for the Japanese market, the album has since become seen as one of Deep Purple’s seminal albums, and one of the greatest live albums of all time (A Rolling Stone magazine readers poll in 2012 voted “Made In Japan” as the sixth greatest live album of all time).

From a personal perspective the latest mastering of these albums are sublime, with very subtle differences "the famous saying goes "Everything louder than everything else". Well, it is here: George Peckham's original mastering back in 1972 took some beating (Mastered at Apple Studio's in Savile Row, London) on A Neumann D70 lathe. But the latest master surpasses it with the latest technology. Having compared the two mixes, on this version you can absolutely hear everything! The "Bongo's" as played by Ian Gillan are certainly not prevalent on the original, they certainly are here and I hadn't noticed Ritchie Blackmore's guitar tuning on the original either, it's as if the recording (or mix) has been left "raw" and as it is meant to be! Turn it up to 11 I say! Get the real feeling as if you were actually there, 'cos this does it for me, particularly on my high-end audio equipment!

I noticed that the "outer box/carton" states this was made in the Czech Republic (see images) but the individual album covers state "Made in the EU". These were pressed by GZ Media in the Czech Republic (a very interesting website to visit). The company being based not too far away from Prague. - "Apple_core" - PHIL
